Present: John Fritsche, Nelson Grman, Poonam Jain, Larry Leone, Rus Masinelli, Josh Ross, Bryan Siegfried, and Phyllis Spurney The meeting was called to order at 7:15 PM by Poonam Jain. Past Meeting minutes discussed. Nelson Grman moved to accept previous meeting minutes, John Fritsche seconded, and approved on a voice vote. Members of the ITS Trail Committee will be presenting to White City August 2nd. After the presentation to Mount Olive by Phyllis Spurney and John Fritsche, the Mount Olive city council voted a resolution of support. Packets will be made up to educate local politicians regarding the goals and progress of the ITS Trail Committee. We plan to mail these out to all state and federal representatives, including Dick Durbiun, Barack Obama, Deanna Demuzio, Lane Evans, and Gary Hannig. These packets will include information about the planned trail, our minutes, and other general information about the program. Poonam Jain reported that we have received two EINs. After the receipt of the first EIN, a bank account was created at First National Bank. We received an unexpected second EIN. Poonam Jain will contact the IRS to sort out the details. We currently have $1250 in funds, including recent members. Nelson Grman and Bryan Siegfried will sign signature cards for the bank account this week. Several new members joined over the last month. Quality Title & Abstract Co. of Central Illinois sent its report today, but this has not yet been reviewed in detail. Publicizing the ITS Trail was discussed, including messages on bills such as local water bills, utility bills, etc. In fact, Benld has already agreed to place messages on their bills. John Fritsche has worked on poster designs and will be working on these further. Also, letters and membership cards are still in the works. Additionally, we will look into becoming involved with the Tour de Coal. A feasibility study was discussed. Generally, the committee concurred that a feasibility study would improve our ability to write up a grant proposal for the main trail. John Fritsche will talk with Greene and Bradford regarding a feasibility study. We will need to work on a grant proposal for the feasibility study. Nelson Grman will enquire whether IDNR or the Route 66 bicycle trail committee would be a more appropriate venue for a feasibility study grant. As Duane Siegfried had already offered in-kind support for the bicycle trail, the board asked whether we could enlist him as the engineering advisor to the board. The meeting was adjourned at 8:39 PM.
