Meeting minutes ITS Trail Committee Meeting minutes April 11th, 2006 Members present: Poonam Jain, John Fritsche, Russ Masinelli, Larry Leone, Bryan Siegfried, Nelson Grman Meeting minutes of April 4th, 2006 were approved. Russ Masinelli and John Fritsche suggested that a title study researching all land rights on the proposed trail routes is the next important step for our committee to pursue. The committee unanimously agreed. For further publicity and citizen support of our mission, Nelson Grman suggested we start publishing our activities in South County news (contact: Dave Ambrose) and Mt. Olive Herald (contact: Linda Hasquin). John Fritsche suggested we obtain Macoupin county support by sending a letter of introduction to each County Board member. Nelson Grman suggested that it would be best to obtain a list of all county board members from Michele Zippay- the county clerk at 217 854 3214. Poonam Jain will follow up on this and send out all these letters. It was suggested that letters of introduction be mailed to Senators O’Bama and Durbin, Gary Hannig and governor Rod Bladgoevich. Once again, Poonam Jain will be responsible for mailing these letters. Poonam Jain reported that she had mailed a letter of introduction to Mr. Karl Eitenreith of Norfolk and Southern Railroad and contacted him telephonically, apprising him of the formation of our not-for-profit corporation and our mission. The Committee agreed that that was a very important step. Poonam Jain brought up the fact that the Committee needs a Treasurer. The members felt that it would be best to have someone from outside the Committee to be the treasurer. Poonam Jain said she would contact Larry Ziglar at First National Bank to see if his wife- Jeannie would be interested in taking that position. Both Russ and Nelson felt that would be an excellent choice. The revised by-laws were adopted by the Committee with unanimous support. The next meeting will be held on May 2nd, 2006.
