ITS Trail Committee

Meeting minutes

Present:

Poonam Jain, John Fritsche, Russ Masinelli, Larry Leone, Rick Verticchio

Poonam Jain started the meeting by reading meeting minutes from the May 2nd meeting which were unanimously approved by all present.

Russ Masinelli reported that on meeting Della Sullivan, he had learned that she was an active member of the Macoupin County trails organization in 2002 and had a lot of crime and usage data regarding trails in our area.

Russ also reported that Sharon form Staunton, working for Qualtiy Title from Carlinville had agreed to do a complete title study for us, on all land owners on or near the proposed trail route. She would do it for no cost at this point but as ans when the committee had funds, she would be paid $60.00 for each property along the trail that was researched. The Board unanimously agreed. Russ said it would take 2-3 weeks for her to complete the study.

A discussion ensued regarding the exact route of the proposed trail, especially once it enters Benld.

John Fritsche suggested that we write a resolution of support and present it to City Councils of Stunton, Benld, Sawyerville and Gillespie. If these city councils adopt these resolutions and support us, it would help significantly in the ultimate grant proposal for the trail development.

Rick Verticchio offered to write the resolution of support and e-mail it to Poonam Jain. The Staunton City Council will meet on June 27^th and Nelson Grman will get us on the agenda to make a presentation and ask for support. The County Board will meet in Carlinville on July 11^th and Nora Feuquay will get us on the agenda. The Benld City Council will meet on July 10^th and Larry Leone will get us on the agenda there.
Poonam Jain will present ot Staunton, Russ, John and Larry to Benld and Nelson, John and Russ to the County Board.
