ITS Trail committee

Meeting Minutes for February 21^st, 2007

Present: Poonam Jain, Jarid Ott, Bryan Siegfried, Rus Masinelli, John Fritsche, Nelson Grman, Bill Napper

The meeting was called to order at 7:20 PM at the conference room of Community Memorial Hospital. The Staunton Public Works Building was unavailable because of scheduling conflicts.

Poonam Jain reported on our contacts with Senator Demuzio, Jerry Kane, and Gene Peters. Jerry Kane and Gene Peters continue to offer good advice. Senator Demuzio was supportive of the ITS Trail project.

The ITS Committee Board decided to not pursue the Right of Way agreement with the railroad at this time.

We discussed meeting again with the Macoupin County Board. The ITS Trail Committee has presented to the County Board previously, but another meeting with the board and with Andy Manar may help to further inform them of our progress and to work with them regarding the trail.

We plan to arrange a meeting with the State Representative, Gary Hannig. This would be an informational meeting, showing him the benefits of the trail and the progress the ITS Committee has made so far. The meeting is tentatively set for March 19^th.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:45 PM.
