ITS Meeting minutes for March 6th, 2007

Board members present: Poonam Jain, Nelson Grman, Russ Masinelli, Bryan Siegfried, Larry Leone

Absent: Josh Ross, Phyllis Spurney, Bill Napper

Excused: Susan McBride

Meeting minutes of February 2nd and February 21st were reviewed. Rus Masinelli moved to accept, seconded by Nelson Grman, and passed on voice vote.

President Poonam Jain provided an annual report, detailing in full the accomplishments of the committee towards the ITS Trail so far. She also discussed plans for the future and encouraged our members to continue to work towards the goal of the trail. Our 401(c)(3) application is still pending. Jarid Ott reports that membership is now up to 62 members.

We will be meeting with Andy Manar on March 12th at 7PM. This will be held at Community Memorial Hospital.

We will be meeting with Representative Gary Hannig on March 22nd at 2PM at his Springfield Office.

Elections were held, including the counting of votes by mail and votes cast during the meeting. Out of 25 votes cast: Paul Skeans, Bill Napper, and Jarid Ott won the three open seats. Senator Demuzio received one vote cast.

We have been asking for sponsors for upcoming t-shirt. The City of Staunton, Dr. Lutrell, Cavallo Bus Lines, and Greene & Bradford have all come on board. We may be able to accommodate up to 16 logos on the back of the shirt.

Discussion was opened for suggestions. One suggestion was made for a bike to be raffled off during the homecoming. Another was that we have good bike racks available for any rides we try to organize, including the June 2nd and Octoberfest rides. We will look into the possibility of a bicycle raffle and getting a booth or tent for the Staunton Homecoming.

John Fritsche presented plans for the ITS to participate in the Route 66 Trail-Breaking event on June 2nd. We would like to get a group together to ride from Litchfield to Staunton. Plans have already been drawn up with a nice route showing the history of the area. The ride would culminate at the Duda Gardens, which will be dedicated on the same day.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:15 PM.

Respectfully submitted,

Bryan Siegfried
