ITS Trail Committee Meeting Minutes May 14th, 2006 Board Members Present: Poonam Jain, Bryan Siegfried, Jarid Ott, Rus Masinelli, Larry Leone Insurance Insurance was discussed, including the need and use of directors and officer's insurance and the general liability insurance. Because of the pricing of the insurance, we have decided to hold off on the purchase of insurance until this fall, when general enrollment for the D&O and club insurance will be available through McKay Insurance. Other providers could not meet McKay Insurance's prices. This will be discussed again at the September or October meeting. ITS Website The board discussed the ITS Trail Website. It was decided that a team of people will discuss the website to help guide design or content. Jarid is going to solicit suggestions from several people to come up with possible improvements. He will then consolidate the suggestions and forward them to the webmaster. ITS T-Shirt We now have 15 sponsors for the ITS t-shirt, but will need to get four more. The t-shirt price was finalized at $15. Route 66 Trail-breaking Ride We are working on help and support for the riders on the June 2nd ride. Nelson Grman will bring a table and bike racks. We should be able to use the school's bike racks but Jarid Ott or Nelson Grman will look into this. At this time there are about 30 people signed up for the ride. Larry Leone and Poonam plan to man the table selling ITS gear. New Business We had a last minute opportunity to meet with Anne Daugherty, a representative from Senator Durbin's office. She expressed enthusiasm for the ITS Trail and expressed Senator Durbin's support. We should be receiving a letter expressing Senator Durbin's support in the next few days. We hope to meet with IDNR, Andy Manar, the railroad, and Senator Demuzio sometime in the near future. This is to work out initial details of the purchase of the railroad's property. It is now getting late to organize the Octoberfest ride for 2007. We have not yet had a chance to reasonably discuss the ride with the people in charge of the Octoberfest. However, we will hope to do the ride next year, in 2008. Also, there will be no float for the ride this year, as the raffled was called off. The meeting was subsequently adjourned by Dr. Poonam Jain. Respectfully submitted, Bryan Siegfried, M.D.
