Election of officers

Bryan Siegfried moved to reappoint Poonam Jain as president. Jarid Ott seconded and moved to close the nominations as there were no other suggestions. Poonam Jain was elected by a unanimous vote of the board members present.

Nelson Grman moved to reappoint Bryan Siegfried as secretary. This was seconded by Poonam Jain. Paul Skeans moved to close the nominations as there were no further suggestions. Bryan Siegfried was elected by a unanimous vote of the board members present.

Discussion of recent activities, including our involvement in the Mount Olive homecoming parade on June 23rd, was reviewed. We are hoping to be involved in the upcoming homecoming in Dorchester on August 4th, 2007.

Review of the recent Route 66 ride by Jarid Ott was notable for the involvement of riders. We had one of the largest number of riders of any leg of the ride. Hopefully, this can be an even larger ride next year. We are uncertain of whether the Route 66 Committee will be operating the ride again, although we may organize it ourselves if possible.

Poonam discussed the Bikes Belong Grant. We will be applying for this grant. We will need to apply by August 31st for the best possible results. Going through the grant, Poonam divided the tasks necessary between the various board members. This should help us leverage local, state, or federal funds. It may also be used for a feasibility study. Work on the grant will also give us a nucleus of data and experience for writing more grants in the future.

IDNR Grant application is technically due January 1st, but we plan to apply as early as possible. Plan to be ready October 1st.

New Business

St. Louis Post-Dispatch reporter Terry Hillig will be interviewing Poonam Jain tomorrow.

Respectfully submitted,

Bryan Siegfried, M.D.
