ITS Trail committee Meeting Minutes August 7th, 2007 Board Members Present: Poonam Jain, Bryan Siegfried, Jarid Ott, Nelson Grman, Rus Masinelli, Bill Napper, Larry Leone, John Fritsche Board Members excused: Paul Skeans Also Present: Sandy Lane, Conrad Kee, Marie Hudson The meeting was opened by Poonam Jain at 7:15 PM. Meeting Minutes The minutes of the July 10th meeting were reviewed. A motion was made to approve by Poonam Jain, seconded by Jarid Ott and Nelson Grman, and subsequently approved by a voice vote. Financial Update Sandra Lane presented an overview of the current financial state of the ITS Trail Committee. She is working with auditors, and with other FNB staff to help with a formal budget. Discussions with Railroad Jarid Ott, Nelson Grman, John Fritsche, and Poonam Jain met with George Camille. He works with the Norfolk and Southern railroad. We had a frank discussion regarding expectations from both sides. It was instructive to us, and those attending felt that Mr. Camille now has a better understanding of our intentions. He plans to contact us in the near future. Staunton Youth Council Poonam Jain heard back from the SYC and we will try to involve them more in the activities of the ITS. Poonam plans to talk with Polly Gai about this. Tax Status Rick Verticchio continues to iron out the issues regarding our 401(k) application. Bikes Belong Grant Further discussion with Elizabeth Train at Bikes Belong indicates that we would most likely not qualify for one of the Bikes Belong grants. They would rather support construction and we have not yet reached that stage. Other sources of grant funding exist, such as Boeing, which provides for community grants. We plan on arranging a meeting with Steve Gonzalez regarding doing a feasibility study, or what next steps would be advisable. Poonam is to be interviewed by WGEL Poonam is working out a good time for an interview with WGEL Radio from Greenville. Tour de Coal 9/22/07 We will link to the Tour de Coal on our website. The meeting was adjourned at 8:25 PM. Respectfully submitted, Bryan Siegfried, M.D.
