Minutes of the ITS Trail Committee

February 5^th, 2008

Board Members Present: Poonam Jain, Bryan Siegfried, Nelson Grman, Russ Masinelli, Jarid Ott, Larry Leone

Board Members Excused: John Fritsche

The meeting was opened at 7:14 PM.

We discussed the membership period for the ITS Committee. Up until now, we have been giving one year memberships, and having them come due after one year of membership. However, this is creating a complex record keeping situation. After some discussion, the possibly of creating a formal membership period, starting July 1^st and running until June 30^th of the following year. This is in part because our very first formal memberships started around July of 2005. A motion was made to accept this proposal by Bryan Siegfried, seconded by Russ Masinelli, and passed by a voice vote.

Route 66 Bike Trail Committee – National Trails Day and the date for their Route 66 Bike Trail Committee sponsored ride is not yet set.

Public Hearing: Held today, the public hearing appeared to pass uneventfully.

Financial Report: Sandra Lane was unable to attend. She had provided a written report, which Jarid Ott shared with the assembled membership.

Staunton Youth Council provided us with a $750 donation. We are very thankful for this contribution.

Election: Elections will be held at the next meeting, scheduled for March 4^th, 2008. This will be an Annual Meeting, as stipulated in the By-Laws of the ITS Trail Committee. Russ Masinelli, Nelson Grman, and Poonam Jain are up for election this year.

Trivia Night: Bill Vogt is working on a venue for a possible Trivia Night fund raiser for later this year.

Octoberfest Ride: Russ Masinelli is talking with Trailnet about organizing the ride for the Octoberfest at St. Michael's. Unfortunately, as of the time of the meeting, he had yet to hear back from Trailnet regarding the ride,including insurance issues.
