ITS Trail Committee Minutes November 6th, 2007 Members Present: Poonam Jain, Bryan Siegfried, Russ Masinelli, Nelson Grman, Jarid Ott, Larry Leone, John Fritsche Absent: Paul Skeans Others Present: Conrad Kee, Randy Johnson Previous Meeting Minutes The meeting minutes for October 2nd of 2007 were reviewed extensively. After some changes were made, Jarid Ott motioned for the revised minutes to be approved, seconded by Russ Masinelli, and approved by a voice vote. Financial Report Sandy Lane reported on the ITS Trail Committee's current account. As of October 31st, 2007, our balance was $16,673.62. Membership Jarid Ott presented current membership numbers. Whereas our membership for 2006-2007 reached 78, we are now up to 49 total members for 2007-2008, after sending out 58 renewal letters. Communication Costs Bryan Siegfried presented the cost of the toll-free number for the ITS Trail. Since the inception of the ITS, Bryan Siegfried was paying the cost of the toll-free line out of his own pocket. The cost of the line was reviewed, and Jarid Ott moved to cancel the toll-free line, seconded by John Fritsche, and approved by a voice vote. The website cost was reviewed, and will continue to be paid for by Bryan Siegfried. Norfolk and Southern Our contact at Norfolk and Southern has become more positive about our purchase of the N&S portion of the railway. More details will probably be sorted out in early 2008. Status of 501(c)(3) Application We will complete further paperwork to finalize this status. Illinois Bicycle Path Program Grant We discussed the particulars of this grant, including the submission process involved. Although somewhat up in the air, we plan for a meeting around November 17th to sit down and complete the final application. Review of Internal Procedures A yearly review of the basic internal procedures was requested. Jarid Ott will receive concerns from interested parties and board members. We will consider a smaller subcommittee to review these concerns and bring them back to the board. Currently, we will work on the Illinois Bicycle Path Program. Board Member Resignation Bill Napper has submitted his resignation from the board to Poonam Jain. After a short discussion, Russ Masinelli moved to accept his resignation, seconded by John Fritsche, and approved on a voice vote. Jarid Ott Abstained. Russ also suggested sending Bill Napper a letter thanking him for all his time and support for the ITS Trail. Nelson Grman nominated William Vogt to complete the unexpired term of Bill Napper, seconded by John Fritsche, and approved by a voice vote. as reflected in Article IX, Section 2, of the ITS Trail Committee Bylaws. Fund raising We have several decals left after the picnic and need to make these available on the website. The next meeting will be December 4th, 2007. The meeting was adjourned at 8:56 PM.
