Meeting Minutes of the ITS Trail Committee

September 5^th, 2006

Members Present: Bryan Siegfried, Poonam Jain, Nelson Grman, John Fritsche, Larry Leone, Rus Masinelli, Nill Napper, and Phyllis Spurney

Members excused: Josh Ross

Andy Manar, Larry Lux,Bob Vojas, Morrie Frasier, and Ruth Pomatto presented a $1500 check for support of the ITS Trail. Mr. Manar gave a brief speech regarding the county's support.

Poonam Jain gave a brief presentation regarding the ITS Trail Committee's goals and current progress. We completed the paperwork for 501(c)(3) status just today (9/5/06). As always, we appreciate Rick Verticchio's tireless efforts on the part of the ITS Trail Committee.

Poonam Jain announced that the SIU College of Engineering will help with an initial study. Firther details will be discussed in October.

Poonam Jain announced that the letter requesting a “Right of Entry Agreement” was sent a few weeks ago. We have yet to hear any word back from Norfolk and Southern.

The ITS Trail Committee plans to take an active role in the Tour de Coal on 9/23. Hopefully, this will increase the visibility of the ITS Trail Committee and its goals.

Phyllis Spurney is requesting that we have a formal presentation regarding the trail with the next Sawyerville board meeting.
